Dear readers,
With reference to the above post (Open Petition by Bloggers for Peace), the rationale behind it is to make our small voices heard as electors, as stake-holders in the process. It is highly unlikely that there will be any change in the positions of the political elite. My thoughts are however, that this beats the hell out of gathering around coffee shops/cafes/the drinks table as many do and talk about how all this is bullshit and how we want peace and how screwed up the country is etc, etc. Well this is perhaps a way of letting those that matter know how we all feel... its up to them to decide. They may never look or never care, but remember that in an electoral democracy, people do have the power - this though is collective power. For those of us that truly believe in the values of democracy, let us make the system work... voices of the many.
